I still remember during my school days and college we usually called our teacher “GURU JI”. And if you return before Britishers took over India, everyone used to call “GURU JI” then it changed to “Master Ji” then Teacher. A drastic change in our mind and thought. Right?

So I assumed we should always consider what’s the difference between Teacher and Guru.

I think the teacher teaches you whereas Guru enlightens you change your life. This might confuse what’s the difference between enlightening and teaching. Enlighten means he will offer you a solution until you stop your questions. Guru enjoys question, whether it’s the dumb or clever question. An educator may offer you knowledge whereas a Guru causes you to wise. For Guru, all students are equal there’s no difference between poor or rich.

The teacher needs obedient and disciplined student, whereas guru causes you to free.

The teacher teaches you “This is the Nature” whereas Guru will teach you “You are a part of Nature”.

You as a student find teacher whereas Guru finds you.

A real Guru shouldn’t expect anything from the scholar for offering his service as Guru.

Teacher punishes you where you discover some knowledge in guru’s punishment.

Teacher sharpen your mind, A Guru opens your mind.

A Teacher shows you the way of prosperity, A guru shows the way of serenity.

The difference is that an educator points the way; the guru is that the way

Guru has endless knowledge, and he also learns from his student, where the teacher has just one subject knowledge.

There is one book name “YogaVashistha” . — A Conversation Between Lord Rama And Vashistha

The complete text contains over 29,000 verses. The short version of the text is named Laghu YogaVashistha and contains 6,000 verses. The text is structured as a discourse of sage Vashistha to Prince Rama. The text consists of six books.

This is one among the longest Hindu texts in Sanskrit after the Mahabharata, and a crucial text of Yoga. the normal belief is that reading this book results in spiritual liberation.

Can you believe Rama has asked numerous inquiries to Guru Vashishtha and, it had been a really long discussion and Guru Vashishtha never told him, I’m tired now and, even Lord Ram wasn’t tired while asking questions? you’ll say this was one among the simplest form of Guru and student combination.

Conclusion

I always wanted to be a far better student than better Guru, but materialistic things will cause you to Teacher. immediately it very rare to seek out Guru nowadays, it’s a rare rest culture of India. Teachers, please don’t feel offended while reading this text. We’ve to vary with ourself with society. I can understand this.
